IT is my BIRTHDAY tomorrow, November 30

Well there I am less than a minute old and tomorrow I will celebrate number 62! At a time when the delivery room was free from video cameras, husbands and family, my mommy's doctor said to the nurse, "Oh my gosh, someone go get a camera, this baby is beautiful..." According to the nurses and staff that was unheard of to have a doctor ask for a camera, but as the fifth day of my mom's stay was about to come to a close, she began to wonder if she had been dreaming of what happened five days before. BUT no, as she was being discharged from Balboa Hospital, the nurse handed her an envelope with photos of my birth certainly something that most new mothers did not have in 1946!

Today is a very HISTORIC election....

I have been energized since Iowa when Barack Obama won the Iowa Caucus and now we are here just hours away until a new president is announced. As most know, I voted for Barack Obama a couple weeks ago by absentee ballot. I believe that he shows leadership skills, steady under pressure, steadfast and strong. He has the ability to take us in a new direction with hope of changing the last eight years. His cabinet will be both men and women who will help lead our country on a path of HOPE and change. No matter the outcome, with a women running for Vice-President and an African American running for the highest office in the country this is truly an historic election. I am reminded of another election when my sister and I campaigned for George McGovern in 1972. We were fully engaged in his campaign. This is the year for change and I am hopeful that Senator Obama will be the next president of the United States... I hope that you voted. Please snag these Americana tags as my gift on this day. You will have to click on the link, as I re-sized the tags to display in this post...Please enjoy! Click on the green arrow under the tags and that will bring you to the download page. YOU MAY HAVE TO COPY AND PASTE THE DOWNLOAD ADDRESS INTO YOUR BROWSER. Not sure why, but it will work that way...
